Buying a Home in Round Rock

Your real number first, a written buyer agreement, and the search, offer and closing run in one plan.

Two Kinds of Round Rock Streets

Buying a home in Round Rock usually starts with a choice between two kinds of street. Near Brushy Creek and Forest Creek, the neighborhoods date from the 1980s and 1990s, with grown trees and homes that have had decades of owners. Around Old Settlers Park, the communities are newer, and so are the roofs, the windows and the systems inside. Neither one is the right answer for everybody. The right answer depends on your number and on what you want to spend after closing day.

Round Rock is my home base, and I am both a Realtor and a Loan Officer, so I can show you how each kind of street plays out in your monthly payment before you fall for one of them.

Older Home or Newer Home: Run the Numbers First

An older home near Brushy Creek may have a bigger yard and an established street, and it may also need a new roof or an air conditioning system sooner. A newer home near Old Settlers Park usually needs less work in the first years, and its taxes and association fees can change the payment in a different way. I put both side by side with your actual income, including any 1099 part, so you can see the real cost of each before you tour.

Your real number and a written buyer agreement, signed before any showing, make up the Ready step of how buying a home works with me.

Lake Forest, Sonoma and the Rest of Round Rock

Inside Round Rock, two neighborhoods come up often. Lake Forest has larger homes on larger lots, from several builders. Sonoma, on the east side, has a wider range of home sizes, mostly by one builder, and two pools. I help you compare them, and every other part of town, on the things that matter to your file. For the wider picture, start with the Round Rock town page.

Getting around is part of the decision too. I-35 runs through the middle of town, SH 45 runs along the south edge, and SH 130 sits to the east. Where you work decides which side of town makes sense, and I bring that into the search from the start.

Life Around the Home You Buy

Round Rock gives you a lot to do close to home: Old Settlers Park, the Dell Diamond where the Round Rock Express play, Round Rock Premium Outlets, Kalahari Resorts and historic downtown Round Rock. When we tour, I point out how far each home is from the places you will actually use, so the decision is about your days and not only the floor plan.

If you are also looking one town over, compare buying a home in Pflugerville or buying a home in Georgetown. The full buyer overview is on buying a home. When you are ready, send me a note on the contact page.
